A network of well-insulated underground pipes then brings the hot water to homes, businesses or public buildings nearby for heating and domestic hot water.

Biosynergy’s brand new buildings in Ronse also provide accommodation for a small biomass power plant. We meet our own energy needs, but at the same time we also manage a heat network in the Pont West industrial zone.
Local wood processing and short rotation coppice
The green heat is generated with local wood streams from the existing wood processing industry. We also planted buffer area’s around the industrial zone with short rotation oppice. The wood chips from these plantations complement the range of woody biomass on the one hand and on the other promote the fauna and flora.
Leading example
Biosynergy received an honourable mention from the New C-Land Consortium as a leading example for the valorisation of residual land. The maintenance and management of the short rotation coppice was outsourced to a sheltered workhop, so Biosynergy contributes to social employment.
The installation complies with the highest emission standards and is monitored 24/7 by Biosynergy and checked annually by accredited control bodies.
