Bioenergy since 2009
BIOSYNERGY bvba was founded in 2009 in the wake of a restructuring and management buy-out of a prominent Belgian cleantech company. The founding partners Koen Clepkens and Jos De Veyt then transferred the activities related to biomass (residual) flows into a new company.
Together with Jos, I put BIOSYNERGY on the map at a time when the possibilities of green energy were being fully explored,” says Koen. “We were not only the directors, we were also the engineers who came to our customers’ premises to discuss their energy needs and how we could help them with our technology.
Meanwhile, at the impetus of a close-knit team, BIOSYNERGY has evolved into a solid SME whose capital is open to employee participation.
Energy transition
Together with the need to phase out the use of fossil fuels because of the impact on the climate, the urge to become energy independent has also become more urgent in recent years. Both have initiated an energy transition that makes an investment in the local generation of bioenergy attractive. However, no two projects are the same. In addition to solutions for heating or cooling of buildings, biomass-based systems can also provide energy for production processes and generation of electricity. We have the expertise to offer a solution for every need.
Our Team
Good-hearted engineer with a ‘can do’ mentality. Jos graduated as an industrial engineer (construction). Gained national and international experience as project manager in various sectors, with an emphasis on the cleantech industry. Jos said goodbye to BIOSYNERGY in 2019, but his DNA continues to live on in the company.
Good-natured engineer with a hands-on approach. Koen graduated as an industrial engineer (electricity) and obtained a degree in business administration. Gained global experience as a field engineer and project manager, employed by prominent players in various sectors, with an emphasis on the cleantech industry.
Former lawyer with a commercial mindset. Thibaut graduated with a Master’s degree in corporate law and a Master’s degree in business administration. He gained experience in corporate, financial and tax law, including for clients in the renewable energy sector. He joined BIOSYNERGY in 2015 to support the company’s growth.
Polyvalent maintenance technician. The company's Swiss army knife. Frederic graduated in electromechanics (air-conditioning) and obtained a degree in industrial automation. Gained solid experience as a technical manager, employed by prominent players in various sectors, with an emphasis on the clean tech industry.
Versatile maintenance technician with a good sense of humour and exceptional skills.
Jurgen graduated in technical education specialising as a welder-mechanic. He gained worldwide experience as a field service and maintenance technician, employed by prominent players in various sectors, with an emphasis on the cleantech industry.
Over the years, BIOSYNERGY has built up a solid network of skilled and loyal subcontractors. We can always count on their help to carry out larger projects or specific assignments. Technicians are deployed per project or assignment according to their speciality. Under the leadership of the BIOSYNERGY team, the projects are delivered flawlessly, and assignments are completed to the satisfaction of the customer.
